As we dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a casino game of talent and good luck. The goal is to move your pieces carefully around the board to your inner board while at the same time your opponent shifts their pieces toward their inner board in the opposite direction. With competing player chips shifting in opposite directions there is bound to be conflict and the need for particular techniques at particular times. Here are the last 2 Backgammon techniques to complete your game.
The Priming Game Plan
If the purpose of the blocking tactic is to hamper the opponents ability to shift their checkers, the Priming Game plan is to absolutely block any movement of the opposing player by creating a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s chips will either get bumped, or result a bad position if he at all tries to leave the wall. The trap of the prime can be built anywhere between point two and point eleven in your board. After you have successfully constructed the prime to prevent the activity of your opponent, the opponent doesn’t even get a chance to toss the dice, and you shift your chips and toss the dice yet again. You’ll be a winner for sure.
The Back Game Plan
The aims of the Back Game strategy and the Blocking Game plan are similar – to hurt your competitor’s positions hoping to better your odds of succeeding, but the Back Game technique uses different tactics to achieve that. The Back Game technique is generally utilized when you’re far behind your competitor. To compete in Backgammon with this plan, you have to control 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single checker) late in the game. This strategy is more complex than others to play in Backgammon because it needs careful movement of your pieces and how the chips are moved is partly the result of the dice toss.
