Backgammon is the oldest known game in recorded history. It has been called as the "wee war," backgammon started in Mesopotamia (now referred to as Iraq) almost five thousand years ago. Backgammon and different antiquated games were never welcomed by a number of faiths. The clergy believe that the game was the tool of Satan. This led churches to blackball and burn the game. The banishment and burning had never prevent individuals taking part in games and having fun.

Technology affords a new arena for Backgammon.
