The Basics of Backgammon Game Plans – Part 1
The objective of a Backgammon match is to shift your checkers around the Backgammon board and bear them off the game board faster than your opponent who works harder to attempt the same buthowever they move in the opposing direction. Succeeding in a game of Backgammon needsrequires both tactics and good luck. Just how far you will be able to move your pieces is up to the numbers from tossing a pair of dice, and just how you shift your checkers are decided on by your overall playing tactics. Players use a number of techniques in the different stages of a game dependent on your positions and opponent’s.
The Running Game Tactic
The goal of the Running Game strategy is to lure all your pieces into your home board and get them off as quick as you can. This technique focuses on the pace of moving your chips with absolutely no efforts to hit or stop your competitor’s chips. The best scenario to use this plan is when you think you can shift your own checkers faster than your opposing player does: when 1) you have a fewer chips on the game board; 2) all your pieces have moved beyond your competitor’s checkers; or 3) your opponent does not use the hitting or blocking plan.
The Blocking Game Technique
The main goal of the blocking strategy, by its title, is to block your competitor’s pieces, temporarily, while not worrying about moving your chips quickly. After you’ve established the blockade for your competitor’s movement with a couple of pieces, you can shift your other pieces quickly off the board. The player should also have an apparent strategy when to withdraw and shift the pieces that you utilized for blocking. The game becomes intriguing when your opponent uses the same blocking tactic.
