The Essential Details of Backgammon Game Plans – Part Two

[ English ]

As we dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a casino game of talent and good luck. The aim is to shift your checkers safely around the game board to your inner board and at the same time your opposing player moves their checkers toward their home board in the opposite direction. With opposing player chips heading in opposing directions there is bound to be conflict and the need for specific strategies at particular times. Here are the last 2 Backgammon plans to complete your game.

The Priming Game Tactic

If the aim of the blocking strategy is to hamper the opponents ability to move their checkers, the Priming Game plan is to completely block any movement of the opposing player by creating a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s pieces will either get hit, or end up in a battered position if he at all tries to leave the wall. The ambush of the prime can be setup anyplace between point two and point 11 in your board. After you have successfully assembled the prime to stop the movement of your competitor, the opponent doesn’t even get to toss the dice, that means you move your checkers and toss the dice yet again. You’ll win the game for sure.

The Back Game Strategy

The objectives of the Back Game technique and the Blocking Game tactic are similar – to hinder your competitor’s positions in hope to boost your odds of succeeding, but the Back Game technique uses different techniques to do that. The Back Game tactic is generally used when you’re far behind your opponent. To participate in Backgammon with this technique, you have to control 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single piece) late in the game. This strategy is more difficult than others to employ in Backgammon seeing as it needs careful movement of your checkers and how the chips are moved is partially the result of the dice roll.
